This geocache is located in a park in downtown Dexter. The park is mainly grassy and flat and the hide is not meant to be overly difficult, but is tricky. Parking can be found in the designated parking area. Please observe dawn to dusk hours unless otherwise posted.
Welcome to the Village of Dexter and the Dexter Geotrail. This geocache is one of seven placed within the parks of the Village. Look for geocaches in the area with DGT in the name. The Dexter Geotrail is designed to take a geocacher to each of the seven parks.
The coordinates should have brought you to a good starting point. From here the geocache will be a short walk. Head west until you come to an alleyway lined with trees on the east side of it. Progress north up the alleyway. Notice the painting of old Dexter on the left and the sculpture called Inner Conflict on the right. A little farther north is a crosswalk. Cross the street. You should be in a plaza-like area. See the clock? Find the face that looks toward tea. Walk forward, cross the street and follow the sidewalk. You should come to another crosswalk with a flagpole across the street. Cross the street. Just past the flagpole is a monument to war veterans. Stand before the monument. Find it and project 273 feet at 137 degrees (magnetic). It is here that you should find the geocache.
The geocache container is camoed to blend in. Please leave the stamp in the geocache.
Inside each Dexter Geotrail geocache will be a code. Write the code on an official Dexter Geotrail Tracking Log. Once completed, return the tracking log to the Village of Dexter Parks and Recreation office or Hackney Hardware to receive a Dexter Geotrail tag. (Tags are available while supplies last.)
