Cova de Sa Campana Das unterirdische Mallorca beherbergt eine unvergleichliche geologische Vielfalt. Im Verlauf von Jahrtausenden ist hier Tropfen für Tropfen eine Fantasiewelt entstanden. Das die Insel die meisten Höhlensysteme pro Quadratkilometer in Europa beherbergt, wissen die wenigsten.Das weiche Kalkgestein ist sehr erosionsanfällig und hat über die Jahrtausende dem Wasser wenig entgegenzusetzen gehabt. Auf Mallorca gibt es über 4000 Höhlen und Grotten, davon mehr als 200 sehr große Tropfsteinhöhlen und viele Erdspalten. Die Höhlen sind riesig, verfügen über unterirdische Salzseen, gewaltige Höhenunterschiede, Hallen so hoch wie Kathedralen, sowie wunderschöne Tropfsteinformationen. Einige dieser Höhlen zählen zu den schönsten der Welt. Die zweit-tiefste Höhle Mallorcas, sowie der gesamten Balearen ist mit -317 Meter die "Cova de Sa Campana", welche sich im Gemeindegebiet Escorca befindet. Der "Sala de Gegants" ist mit mehr als 10.000 Quadratmeter Fläche und über 30 Meter Höhe so gross, dass man die ganze Kathedrale von Palma komplett hineinstellen könnte. Der Geocache:
Diesen Cache sollten nur erfahrene Höhlen-Kletterer (Speläologen) versuchen. Bitte bedenkt, dass Ihr 174m(!) einfahren müsst. Das Team sollte mindestens aus 3 Teilnehmern bestehen. Maximum sollten 6 Teilnehmer inkl. Guide einfahren. Bitte beachtet, dass das Einfahren ohne Guide, lebensgefährlich sein kann! Wir können gern Guides vermitteln. Dann seid Ihr auch versichert und die Alarmierung der Rettungskette ist inklusive!!! Die benötigte Zeit beträgt zwischen 6-10 Stunden. Die eigentliche Zeit kann jedoch erheblich davon abweichen! Wegstrecke je: 45-60 Minuten Schwierigkeit: VII. Seehöhe: 330 m. Art: Karst Klettern: horizontal und vertikal. Tiefe: -317 m - Cache bei 174m!!! Anmarsch je: 45-60 Minuten Beste Zeit: ganzjährig Der Cache befindet sich in 174m Tiefe, im "Sala Dels Gorgs" siehe Spoilerfoto.

Cova de Sa Campana The subterranean Mallorca gives shelter to a unmatched geological variety. In thousands of years, drop by drop, a fantasy world had been created Only few know, that the island gives shelter to the most cave systems per square kilometer in Europe. The soft limestone is very erosion-prone and over thousands of years it had less to set against the water. On Mallorca there are over 4000 caves and grottos, thereof mre than 200 very big dripstone caves and many crevices. The caves are enormous, have subterranean salt lakes, immense differences in altitude, halls as high as cathedrals, as well as beautiful dripstone formations. Some of these caves are among the finest in the world. Mallorcas, and as well as on the whole Balearic Islands, second lowest cave, with minus 317 meters, is the "Cova de Sa Campana" located on the community area of Escorca. The "Sala de Gegants" with its expanse of more than 10.000 square meters and its height from over 30 meters is so big, that you can place the complete cathedral of Palma into it. The cache:
Only experienced cave-climber (speleologists) should try this cache. Please keep in mind, that you have go down 171m (!). The team should be consist of at least 3 participants. At a maximum 6 participants (guide included) should enter. Please, strongly obserev, that an entering without guide could be life-threatening! We readily can convey a guide. With a guide you are insured and a rescue chain alerting is included in case of accidents. In the cave, the required time is between 6 and 10 hours. In reality, the needed time can differ vastly! Way from the parking area to the cave enrty: 45 -60 minutes. Difficulty: VII High above sea level: 330 m Type: Carst Climbing: horizontally and vertically Deep: -317m - cache at -174m !!! Way from cave exit (= entry) to the parkin area: see above. Best time: all year The cache is located in the "Sala Dels Gorgs" in deep of 171m (see spoiler).
