islander1988: This cache had a nice 7+ year run with 7 favourite points, but unfortunately in recent years has become prone to mugglings (maybe due in part to the change in the hide type). I'm no longer able to replace it on a regular basis as needed, so I'm archiving it. Maybe someone else can develop a fresh idea that's muggle resistant to take advantage of the nice view of the sports field. Thanks to all the finders; just one shy of 175! Happy caching.

Geocache Description:

The mini-palidrome date of March 21, 2012 (12.3.21) seemed like an appropriate excuse to hide a cache. This one continues the series in Mariinsky Park, adding a new icon to the caches available in the park.

Islander sat on a bench in Mariinsky Park and browsed through the newspaper. It was a beautiful day to be outside, but it was a geocache he craved, not football scores. Yet he'd been told that the sports page held a secret, which would lead to a little Tupperware Treasure.

With passing interest, Islander scanned the scores from the previous day's series of games.

About the Cache Location

On the edge of Mariinsky Park is the Lobanovsky Dynamo stadium. Built in 1934, the stadium holds almost 17000 people and is the home of the Dynamo Kyiv football (soccer) club. The stadium hosts primarily domestic and European games, and it is visible from the walkway running through Mariinsky Park (especially when the leaves are off the trees). However, if a game is in progress, you might find the view blocked to prevent free enjoyment of the action.

The cache location will give you a view of the stadium. Please be discrete as there are many muggles about, especially during the summer months, and please put the cache back exactly as you find it to help maintain the "camo". The container is a black bottle-top micro. Note you should remove it from its hiding place on the side away from you; it is in tight and may not be removable by pulling it directly towards yourself.
