Geocache Description:

Please read and print out all instructions: this ain’t no park n’ grab.

This multi-stage cache takes you on a tour of a fascinating cemetery—Oakwood. There are a great variety of old and ornate monuments throughout, so you may want to bring along a camera; just don’t spoil the location of the final. There is plenty of walking to do, so be sure to allow several hours to complete this cache and to appreciate your surroundings. Obviously, you should watch your step around the monuments and be respectful of the cemetery. The ease with which you reach the final depends on your observational skills; this cache requires an eye for detail and involves some old-school orienteering. Pay close attention to the photos below; if you try to navigate from the wrong landmark, who knows where you’ll end up. There is no need for wading to reach any stage of this cache, and there shouldn’t be any great risks involved, although you may finish muddy, damp, and tired. Also, keep in mind the most direct route isn’t usually the easiest. Certain areas you’ll visit will probably provide an opportunity to CITO, if you’re so inclined. All that being said, I hope you'll have an excellent adventure!-------Here’s what you need to bring, in addition to your normal geocaching gear: A compass (one that allows you to read and follow a bearing). A friend or two (recommended). Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Shoes or boots you don’t mind getting dirty. Water bottle. Gloves (recommended). A flashlight (optional).--------- The main entrance to Oakwood Cemetery is off of Siena Heights Drive; the posted coordinates take you to the parking area.-------Note: I checked and rechecked the bearings, but keep in mind they may be slightly inaccurate. Allow a 5 degree variation either way, and keep a sharp lookout for the features the photo clues hint at--this is where it’s helpful to have a friend along. If you wander off course, you may be in for some frustration. I'm sorry about the huge photos; I tried to make them smaller to no avail. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1. Walk from the parking area to the house of the dead with this feature. Your quest begins here.
2. Now walk a 105 degree bearing to this stone.
3. Walk a 52 degree bearing to this unique monument.
4. Follow a 25 degree bearing until you reach this stone.
5. Now walk an 82 degree bearing until you find this.
6. Continue on a 30 degree bearing to this monument, believe it or not.
7. Walk a 65 degree bearing to this feature.
8. Follow a 335 degree bearing until you find this repository of ectoplasm.
9. Now just walk a 65 degree bearing for approximately 120 feet. Once you locate this stone, you’ll find hidden coordinates to be close at hand.
Once you’ve deciphered these coordinates, continue on to the next stage; here you must locate further coordinates which will lead you to The Final.
