The idea for this challenge came from Geoturtlelover and coachstahly and their respective challenges in FL (GC2JTVN) and IN (GC3711M). Thanks to coachstahly for allowing me to copy and use the idea up here in Minnesota as well as for using some of their text from their cache pages.
Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to find a total of 49 caches before finding the final cache.

Here is what you need to do:

We all know about the GC numbers that are associated with each and every cache. However, other than using them to refer to specific caches when doing a search, we rarely pay much attention to them. This challenge forces you to pay attention to them!!

You need to find all the numbers for each “position” within the GC code. GC numbers range from 1 to 5 digits after the letters GC (although all the single digit caches have been archived and you wouldn’t be able to use them per the parameters of this challenge anyway).

For example, you need to find numbers 1-9 for the first position after GC

(GC1XXX) (GC2XXX) Etc.

For the following 4 positions, you must find all numbers 0-9 (that’s 10 numbers for each position)

The exact number of digits in a GC code is not required to fulfill a designated spot in the grid (for example you can find GC51A and use the 5 for GC5XXX). Any 4, 5, 6 or 7 digit GC code may be used. However, a cache may only be used 1 time and you must submit either a bookmark or post the qualifying caches in your log (either in a grid like below or a screen shot) upon claiming the cache.

After looking back through all my finds in order to qualify myself for this challenge, the earliest date I could find for the last one I needed in my grid was October 12, 2011 - just 4 days after I started my current streak. That means that I qualified in just under five months. I challenge you to get out of your “comfort space” and explore new frontiers!

Here is a chart to use to keep track of the caches you have found. You can also see my log as a guide of how to list your finds.

GC1XXX GCX0XX GCXX0XX GCXXX0X GCXXXX0
GC2XXX GCX1XX GCXX1XX GCXXX1X GCXXXX1
GC3XXX GCX2XX GCXX2XX GCXXX2X GCXXXX2
GC4XXX GCX3XX GCXX3XX GCXXX3X GCXXXX3
GC5XXX GCX4XX GCXX4XX GCXXX4X GCXXXX4
GC6XXX GCX5XX GCXX5XX GCXXX5X GCXXXX5
GC7XXX GCX6XX GCXX6XX GCXXX6X GCXXXX6
GC8XXX GCX7XX GCXX7XX GCXXX7X GCXXXX7
GC9XXX GCX8XX GCXX8XX GCXXX8X GCXXXX8
Empty.. GCX9XX GCXX9XX GCXXX9X GCXXXX9

Please do not log this cache as a find if you have not met the challenge and have not listed your qualifying caches in your log. If you do, I will unfortunately be forced to unceremoniously and summarily eradicate your log (and I don’t want to have to do that)!

A note about the cache hide: as with most of my mystery/puzzle caches, the puzzle (or in this case the challenge) is the difficult part; the hide should be easy to find (i.e., the difficulty and terrain of the cache represent your toils while completing the requirements; the actual cache hide is a 1.0/1.5).
