Geocache Description:

I have enjoyed doing a lot of circulars over the past few months, (particularly the number of Poshrule ones in this part of the county) and I have now decided to give back, so to speak, and I have come up with this small circular route.
I am one of those people who, when it comes to TV, live in the past. I don’t think the television of today is anything to shout about, and so therefore have dedicated the route to the TV of yesteryear. I remember the days when we all sat down in front of the box, (which it literally was in those days), knowing Dempsey and Makepeace, Bodie and Doyle and Reagan and Carter were keeping our streets clean from the bad guys. A little red squirrel called Tufty, along with a future Darth Vader would help us across the streets in safety, and after eating our Ready Brek, we would all be off to school surrounded by a red glow!! I remember Opel fruits used to make your mouth water, and a woman shaking that white powder all over her carpet which put the freshness back. I remember the crazy Michael Bentine and his Potty Time, Jemima, Big and Little Ted from playschool, and not forgetting Rainbow. Grange Hill was actually set in London, and on those long summer breaks, the ever-lasting Why Don’t You. Of course, from across the pond we had the Fantastic Hill Street Blues, CHiPs, and Columbo. Who could ever forget the timeless classic of Tiswas and the delight of watching Sally James on a Saturday morning.
I have a lot of fond memories (as if you haven’t guessed) of the 70s and 80s and what amazes me more is that we only had 3 channels (and one of them used to shut down at midday!!)
I have therefore taken the plunge and decided to place these caches dedicated to programmes and adverts of my youth (sad I know).
The route is about 4 and a half miles long, and takes in the village of Catworth, across crop fields and bridleways and alongside farming land. It is only suitable for walkers as there are stiles to negotiate, and some pretty bumpy terrain to tackle in places. In wet weather it could get very muddy and therefore wellies are recommended. Parking is available at the local pub, and next door there is a small village shop. Once out of Catworth however, there are no available amenities.
There are one or two difficult caches on route, and some really easy ones. This is my first circular, and although I am pretty confident I have the coordinates correct (I went round the route 3 times to average them out!!), please feel free to have a rant and correct my bearings if necessary. I am aware I am a novice at this, and don’t mind being corrected.
Above all, I hope the walk is a pleasant one, you find all the caches, and thankyou for attempting the Catworth Cult TV circular
