St Peter's Church, Holwell
The Church
There has been a church on this site for over one thousand years. The Saxon King Edgar granted its charter in A.D. 968 and the current church of St Peter was built in 1877. It is thought that this is the fourth building on the same site. The church is unusual and, despite the rebuilding, retains some perpendicular features, a window depicting St Alban's cathedral and an interesting brass.
The Cache
The cache is NOT at the published coordinates. These take you to the front door of the church. However, it is hidden not far away, although NOT in the grounds of the building. To find the coordinates you will need to obtain the values of the letters A to K (excluding I) and plug them in to the following:
North 51 59.(J-G)(H+K)E West 000 18.(A-D)(F-G)A
Each letter uniquely represents a digit from 0 to 9. Do not multiply the results of the brackets.
e.g. (5-1)(8+0)6 resolves to 486
There are two ways to get these numbers. You can either figure out the values of the letters from the following multiplication equation or you can find the "Calling Puzzle Fans" travel bug (TB4Y9TE), which has the code attached to it.
K D H K F K A x 5 = A G D J E F D
