A Little Bit of Everything Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

HappilyEverAfter0818: We archived this cache, to put a new multi in it’s place. With the original CO’s ok, we have a new, revised, revamped and slightly more difficult version, with DT rating changes to reflect that. Thanks to Red Knight for the inspiration!

Geocache Description:

This park has a little bit of everything, so I placed an 10 stage multi with a little bit of everything.

I recently found the upper portion of this park. I noticed that there was a lot of stuff happing in this area. There is are baseball fields, soccer fields, a hockey rink, overnight truck parking, a bus stop, a playground, the town recycling center, a scrap metal yard, two benchmarks (LY2629 & LY2628) that can be seen from the parking lot and a geocache in the lower part of the park.

The fact that this park had a little bit of everything made me want to add a geocache that had a little bit of everything. This is my first multi-cache and first puzzle cache. I tried to include as many types of caches that I could without going too crazy. Which was hard because every time I came here I thought of another hide I could do. It started out as four to five, then nine but maybe eight, but if I was going to do nine then why not ten, so I finally ended up with a nice ten stage multi.

This multi will take you over some different terrains, and to some different caches. Some ideas I have borrowed (or stolen) from other caches that I have found. I am sorry if I didn’t include your cache. Most of this multi will be OK for the kids, one stage will be a bit hard for some of the younger cachers. But then again they actually may be the best for getting that stage. The difficulty and terrain are based on the hardest parts of this multi, not based on the overall multi. Some stages will be very easy and some will be hard.

Beware:

I have always seen muggles here, no matter the weather. And due to the sports fields the muggle activity will increase during the sports seasons.

The ground has always been a bit squishy, even on dry days. I can only assume that this area will be really squishy after a rain, and even muddy after a heavy rain.

There are some thorns that you will encounter on this trip.

I did not see or encounter any poison ivy, but I would not assume that there isn’t any.

There are ticks and I have seen some Garter Snakes.

Requirements for this hunt:

Some time to spend on an 10 stage multi.

Knowledge of QR codes. You can use you smart phone with a free app, a camera and a free scanner for your computer or you can decode it by hand.

Knowledge of different puzzle cache codes.

Some special tools could be helpful but none are required.

Please:

Re-hide the stages as you found them or better.

Let me know if any of the stages go missing or need repairs.

When you get to the final please don’t try to pry open the lid. Instead unscrew the lid.

Do not give any hints, even if they are encrypted or coded. I want everyone to have the same experiance. If you do post spoilers they will be deleated.

Stage 1:

Look around you and answer the following:

A = the number of light poles around the hockey rink?
B = the number of waist high doors around the hockey rink?
C = the number of speakers attached to the hockey rink?
D = the number of lights aimed at the hockey rink?
E = the number of people that could sit in the metal bleachers? Assume 5 seats per section.

Checksum = 89

To find the Latitude for stage 2 complete the following and add the answer to the last 3 digits of the Latitude for stage 1.

(A x (B/2)) + C - 1

To find the Longitude for stage 2 complete the following and add the answer to the last 3 digits of the Longitude for stage 1.

((D x C) – (E + C) + (A x C)) - 5

FTF prize is a $10 scratch off, STF is a $5 scratch off, and TTF is a $1 scratch off. Good luck and let me know if you win anything.

Congrats to rwjfl and Misty's Shadow on their very lucky Co-FTF & Fishhoop on the STF.
