Geocache Description:

This is a driving tour of ten .jpeg caches. There is no need to leave your car for the entire tour, including the final cache location. To find it, you will need to observe a number in the vicinity of each of the listed caches and use them to solve for the final coordinates. That's it.

It could come in handy when the weather's not so great.
Or it could be good for at least 11 smileys if you stop and find each one.

The stops are numbered but that's just to keep them organized and refers to their locations on the map above. It is not necessary to do them in this order. I know some will try to solve the puzzle online, but hopefully you'll get out there for some, if not all of the clues.

Please be mindful of the speed limit in Bellaire (where the street signs are red). When Bellaire says "Speed Limit 30" they don't mean 31. If you are doing this tour at night, please remember that waving flashlights around draws the attention of the authorities. See note about Bellaire police above.

One more thing: Of course the cache is not at the above coordinates. There's no reason to go there, especially at night. ;-)

This cache is dedicated to bubbermom and bubberdad. Be careful and have fun!

1) Skirt Chasin'
NE 350 ft. (toward the Galleria) there is a retail business with a number in the name, which is in red letters and includes the word "Mattress". That number + 2 = B. Another business bites the dust. 3 Day Blinds and Mattress One are gone. So B=3

2) GC30RVY
There is a bus stop on Bissonnet St. to the south of the cache. The sign has a route number on it. The second digit of the route number = E.

3) HEAR IT IS!
At the entrance to the parking nearest the cache is a mailbox with a four digit number on it. The number that appears twice = D. [The mailbox is gone. The answer is "1".]

4) Eyes Only
At the listed location, the bogus one, there is a related business in a storefront. On the front door of this business is a phone number. Half the digits in this phone number are the same. That digit = G.

5) Rain Man
At the street corner to the northeast of GZ is a large sign that mentions "Pad Sites" with a phone number. The eighth digit, or third from the end of the phone number = C. [NOTE JUNE 2015: The sign has been painted out. C=3]

6) Herod's Hide 2.0
On Pontiac Street, northwest of this cache is a school zone sign. The number after the colon in the beginning and ending times of morning school zone speed limit = A. (x:Ax - x:Ax am)

7) When Shrimps Learn to Whistle
There is a street light southeast of GZ on the eastbound side of the street. On the street light pole is a six digit number. The fourth digit = H. [The cache is gone and archived, but the pole is still there]

8) Treasury Triangle
You'll find a warning sign directly under the stop sign approx. 85 ft. west of GZ. The first word on this sign is "Caution". The number spelled out on that sign = F.

9) A Shocking Discovery
There is a pet-related business due east of GZ. The first digit of its address = I.

10) Sam Was Here #8021
You'll see a large red and white sign to the south of GZ that mentions "Luxury Apartments" with a phone number. The second or seventh digit of that phone number = J. [NOTE JUNE 2015: The sign's down. Answer is "1"]

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
