Geocache Description:

WHEN : Sunday April 15 / 2012 1:30 - 5:00

WHY: To make caches for CT Project

WHERE: Home of CO. 16 Tobin Rd. Tryon

Event will run from 1:30 - 5:00 Light dinner/snacks will be available. Come when you can and stay as long as you like. There will be at least a couple new caches released not too far away that day as a bonus for those who make the trek to Tryon.

The not-so-long winter is drawing to an end and the hearts of young lovers turns to thoughts of romance. Meanwhile the thoughts of old cachers turns to GEOCACHING.
It's time to get the ball rolling on what should be a much shorter season of Confederation Trail Project cache placement ( followed inevitably by cache finding!!) . But WAIT! We need caches to place.
This years goal is completion of all spurs, including a plan to place some caches along a section of (maybe) hike-only ( mostly)unimproved abandoned rail bed from Iona towards Stratford. In all it's anticipated that 400-500 additional caches will be placed. This would bring the FINAL grand total for this group to 1600 + geocaches and, incidentally, make it the largest geocache trail on earth !
You need bring nothing with you as we need people to assemble cache containers.. If you wish you certainly may bring a roll of camo tape ( Type we are using for ALL caches is the dark olive drab that so far I have been able to get only at Home Hardware in Stratford ) but there will be several rolls here for use. Wire, logs etc are also all going to be here.

On April 14/15 1912 RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and sank at 41°43'55"N 49°56'45"W . Titanic lies at a depth of 12,600' . This event is being held exactly 100 years after that tragic event which took 1517 lives.
It's been 100 years since Titanic met its fate. Come celebrate(?) and get the new caching season off to a great start!
