Geocache Description:

This cache IS listed at the posted coordinates.

Guemes Greetings and welcome to the Guemes Completus Blackout Challenge! Maybe you have seen or heard about other Blackout Challenges. Most are difficult, time consuming and gas guzzling. Well, this is not the case here. As of the time of this posting, Guemes had 11 active caches!

About the island

Guemes Island is a small, rural, sparsely populated residential island, edged by rocky and sandy beaches, and littered with agates and pretty shells. It is located north of the town of Anacortes on Fidalgo Island and is served by a 22 car ferry operated by Skagit County.

The island was named after the Viceroy of New Spain, Juan Vicente de Güemes, who commissioned an expedition that revealed the islands to Spain in 1791. It was also commonly known locally as Dog Island in the early 20th century, as there were a large number of dogs living wild on the island.

Guemes has limited facilities. There are only two retail stores located here: Anderson's General Store and The Guemes Island Resort, the latter having been in business since the mid-1940s. Two of the island’s beaches are private but most beach access is public, including multiple boat launches.

About the Challenge.

The boundaries are pretty easy and clear for this challenge. Even if you have never cached here before it is feasible to complete all of the caches and finish the Blackout in one day.

Rules

Simple and straightforward: you need to have found every active cache on Guemes, for one moment in time, in order to claim this cache. Caches will appear and disappear so it won't be permanent, but for one instant you need to be able to prove you had found them all. If a cache is inactive, it will not count against you. If a cache is active but it's obvious the cache is not findable it will not count against you.

Please provide a list of your Guemes caches in your online log, create a public booklist or simply capture a picture of your geocaching map showing all your found caches on Guemes.
