Olympia ist eine südöstliche Vorstadt von Windhoek, der in den 1980er Jahren gegründet wurde. Aufgrund der Ausweitung des Windhoeker Stadtgebietes ist damit zu rechnen dass Olympia in naher Zukunft relativ zentral liegen wird, war es doch ursprünglich als ruhiger Wohnstadtteil am Rande der Stadt geplant.
Olympia ist vor allem für die Olympia Sport Grounds (Sportgebiet) bekannt. Hier befinden sich neben dem Independence Stadium, den nationalen Stadien Hage-Geingob (Rugby) und Tennis-Stadion auch eines der beiden öffentlichen Schwimmbäder der Stadt und verschiedene Sportklubs (u.a. SK Windhoek). Auf großen Brachflächen werden in den nächsten Jahren weitere Sport- und Freizeitangebote (u.a. ein großes Kinderspielzentrum) entstehen. Auch die ehemalige Deutsche Schule Windhoek (heute Delta Schule Windhoek) liegt in diesem Stadtteil.
Aufgrund der sportlichen Ausrichtung des Stadtteils sind eine Vielzahl der Straßennamen nach Sportlern bzw. Sportarten benannt. So findet sich hier unter anderem die „Frank Fredericks Straße“.
Olympia ist zum Großteil ein reines Wohngebiet ohne industrielle Ansiedlungen. Die Grundstückspreise bewegen sich im gehobenen Segment und die Wohngebiete werden von großen Einzelhäusern dominiert.

Olympia is a southeastern suburb of Windhoek, which was founded in the 1980s. Due to the expansion of the Windhoek municipal area is therefore expected that Olympia will be in the near future relatively centralized, it was originally planned as a quiet residential neighborhood on the outskirts of the city.
Olympia is known mainly for Olympia Sports Grounds (sports field). Here are next to the Independence Stadium, national stadium-Hage Geingob (Rugby) and Tennis Stadium, one of the two public swimming pools in the city, and several sports clubs (including SK Windhoek). On large brownfield sites will be created over the next few years, other sport and leisure facilities (including a large children's play center). The former German School Windhoek (now Delta School Windhoek) is located in this district.
Due to the sporting focus of the district a variety of street names for athletes and sports have been named. Thus we find here, among others "Frank Fredericks Road."
Olympia is mostly a residential area with no industrial settlements. Land prices are moving in the upscale segment and the residential areas are dominated by large detached houses.
