Golden Gardens in August is one of the best places to watch the sunset in Seattle. Since it's a couple days before the Groundspeak Block Party (GC38J9N), there are likely to be many visitors from out of town. Let's all get together to enjoy this beautiful spot and have a picnic!
A simple event that's BYOP (not Bring Your Own Pen - Bring Your Own Picnic)! I will be renting a shelter that does have a couple grills and will provide charcoal briquettes so feel free to bring meat to grill. Let's hang out, share stories, play some frisbee on the beach and watch the sunset!
Time: 5pm - 10ish pm
Location: Shelter #2 at Golden Gardens (check back in case this changes)
Bring: Your picnic, beach chairs or blankets (picnic table seating is limited), frisbee, football or whatever toys you may want for the beach. There is a little hamburger/hotdog/chowder cafe walking distance away where you can get food to go if you're unable to pick up picnic food.
Parking: There is a lot of parking at Golden Gardens but it does fill up very fast on nice summer days so keep in mind that you may need to drop your picnic gear off at the event location and search for parking.
