This walk should take you on a pleasant stroll through the Angmering Park Estate and across the South Downs. Terrain is variable although not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies, it can get very muddy around here after any rain, especially on the Bridleways of the woodland sections. It may be possible to complete the series by bike as I can only recall crossing 2 stiles throughout the series.
The walk is approximately 16.5 miles long and consists of 100 caches plus 4 bonus caches. For those who may find this too much in one go it can be divided up into 3 separate loops. Each loop has a Bonus cache and on finding all three of those you will have the coordinates for the Final Bonus cache. Coordinates for the Bonuses can be found on the front page of the log books so please don't forget to check and record these as you go. It may be worth plotting the Bonus as soon as you have the numbers to save you back tracking.
Most of the caches consist of 60ml screw top containers, but there are a few regular ones for Travel Bugs and GeoCoins and a couple of novelty caches. The hides are not designed to be particularly difficult as I want you to find them although, one or two may require a good cachers eye or a bit of a climb!
You can do the walk in any order although I do recommend starting at #1 as then you won't have to double back for the Multi's or Bonus caches.
D/T ratings and attributes are for the series as a whole, with additional ones only where necessary.
WARNINGS.
Caches 44 to 52 are alongside a race horse training track. DO NOT walk along this track as the horses do gallop along here.
You may encounter some livestock during the walk. I have seen cows between 35 and 38. There are also sheep and game birds extensively around northern end of the series so please keep dogs on leads where necessary.
Please do not drive up Private Roads to reach any of these caches.
If you are going to do the 3 loops separately then suggested parking coordinates are given.
Loop 1 is approximately 5.5 miles starting at #1 to #14 then you would need to cut across to #86 and complete the rest of the loop in numerical order. This would give you 29 caches plus the Bonus.
Loop 2 is approximately 7.5 miles long starting at #31 to #43 then cutting across to #79 to #85. From here you need to head to #15 to complete the loop in numerical order. This would give you 36 caches plus the Bonus.
Loop 3 is approximately 6.75 miles starting at #67 to #78 then you would need to cut across to #44 and complete the rest of the loop in numerical order. This would give you 35 caches plus the Bonus.
I appreciate that not everybody has the literary skills of Dickens or Shakespeare, or the memory of Peek or Tesla, so copy and paste logs are fine. I do try and read all logs when possible so something more than TFTC is appreciated!
