Geocache Description:

Welcome To Crombie

This is our first of two Geocaching events planned for here this year.

The Crombie Rangers invite you to join mouse in her adventures as she strolls through the deep dark woods. Hopefully you'll find the lunch guests much more friendly than she did.

Crombie Country Park is 102ha in area and includes Crombie Loch, broadleaf and coniferous woodlands, childrens play areas, orienteering courses, nature trails and woodland walks. Picnic and barbeque areas are available all year round and marquees can be hired between April and September.

On the loch you can see Grebes, heron and a variety of water fowl. The woodlands are home to red squirrels, woodpeckers, roe deer, hedgehogs - and if you're really lucky you might just spot a Gruffalo.........

The event starts at 12pm on Sunday 13th May and we will have exclusive use of the garden marquee.

Please note that there is a charge of £2.50 for car parking (Angus Council charge).

Crombie Rangers, the Backmuir team and jsh01 have all been busy and have placed an additional 50 caches (including the event) for you to do on the way there and within the Crombie woods. This is of course in addition to Team Clova's existing Winnie the Pooh trail and other drive-bys. Many thanks to the new Scottish reviewer Lorgadh for reviewing all of these.

Take note: So that you have time to look at these before you set off, we are aiming to get them published arround the 8th or 9th so you have a few days to sort things out.

For a sneak preview of where the new ones are, click on the map below. Note that you can change the map background to Ordnance Survey using the dropdown in the top right hand corner and 'StreetView' also works on this 'zoomable' map if you want to check suitable parking for the drive-bys before you get there.

Around 1pm the barbeque will be lit and our own Jamie Oliver AKA Mr TC has kindly volunteered to man the barbeque. Burgers, buns, salads, sauces etc will be available for a small donation. Veggie options also available and cooked separately.

IMPORTANT NOTICE :- Angus council, crombie park ranger service & geocaching.com are not responsible for the safety, injury or otherwise to persons taking part.
