Geocache Description:

Here's an easy challenge that your kids can help with.

The cache is at the posted coordinates but before you seek it you must find or have found 50 caches that have an animal mentioned in the title.

Here are the challenge rules:

  1. All cache types (traditional, virtuals, events, puzzles, earth, etc.) can be used to qualify. Archived and disabled caches also qualify.
  2. The animal name can only be used once. For example: If you found Bird Island Cache and Bird Nest Surprise you can only use "bird" once.
  3. The title can name the animal in a generic fashion. For example titles with fish, bird, dog, etc. are acceptable.
  4. And the title can be more specific. For example: Walleye Heaven, Swan View, Labrador Man Finds 1000, etc. are acceptable.
  5. Titles that refer to the same animal but with a different word, e.g., Fear of the Wapiti and Elk River Run, can both be used.
  6. If a cache title mentions two animals in it, e.g., Sharknose Bunnies is a funny guy can be used for shark or bunnies, but not for both.
  7. The animal name can be part of a compound word. For example, Dogwood Park, Horseshoe, and Fishing on the Dock would be acceptable for dog, horse and fish. Rubber Ducky and For the Man with One Glove and a Racoony Hat are also acceptable.
  8. Also acceptable will be extinct animals, e.g., Dinosaur Valley and Who's the Dodo? and  mythical or imaginary animals, e.g., Have You Ever Seen a Unicorn? and Dragon's Breath, as long as it is generally understood that it is an animal-like creature.
  9. What is not acceptable? Titles that refer to animals by a proper name, e.g. Cache Full of Pooh, Bambi, A Goofy Cache, are not acceptable.
  10. If we forgot something you can use a fairly liberal interpretation of "animal," e.g., bunny, bug, doe, fawn, are all acceptable as long as it is generally understood that it refers to an animal. This will make it easier, especially if you let the kids help or sit back and let them do it all!

Post your list with a bookmark, log post or email to us brooklyn51@aol.com. Whatever works best for you. Only the Title and GC# are required.

One additional request: If you use Project-GC to compile your list (note that it is for a similar but not identical cache) please include at least 50 cache titles (and verify that they are indeed animal names and not just words buried inside another word; ie. eel inside wheel) from your output in your log. Thanks!
