It's hard to believe it now, but Thames Valley Park was once the site of a coal fired power station.
The cache is located near Thames Valley Park.
Before the park was built, the land was occupied by a coal fired power station.
Built during 1942 and commissioned in 1946 it served initially as a standby station in case Battersea in London was bombed and had railway sidings off the main GWR line to deliver coal for the boiler house.
With Didcot power station coming on line, the station was deemed surplus to requirement and was closed in 1976.
The site was partially demolished in 1983 and completely cleared in July 1986.
The cache is a medium clip lock box with a log, pen and initially a TB. Plenty of room for other TB's.
