| Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, the journey or location, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or "copy and paste" logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. So dont just stick in "easy find TFTC" on every log. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
Travelbug Etiquette: Cachers pay good money for TravelBugs and Geocoins. Please if you take a TB or GC from a cache will you ensure it is correctly logged in and out, also If you take one that still shows somewhere else please be patient before “grabbing” the item, it does not get its mileage by being grabbed and the last person to place may not have had time to log a previous find or the one you took it from. This is particularly important on busy and new caches. If you have an issue with a bug please e-mail the owner through their profile and advise them of the issue. The Great Hinton Telephone Box The first application to have a telephone box in the village was in March 1936 - this was refused on grounds of high installation costs and the expectation of low usage and revenue. The Parish Council called upon the local MP who arranged terms with the Post Office to install a telephone box at the cost of £4.00 per annum for 5 years! This was agreed and in the year 2008 (after 72 years use) the Parish Council are advised that unless £500 per annum is paid to retain the telephone box in working order or, alternatively, £1 is paid to adopt and maintain the box (without telephone), it would be removed. This is a national situation due to the advent of mobile phones, rendering many telephone boxes obsolete. Many villagers expressed their desire to retain our telephone box as a monument and from November 1st, 2008, having paid the £1 adoption fee; the non-working box will remain and becomes the responsibility of Great Hinton Parish Council. It was in 2010 that the Parish Council arranged and paid for the telephone box to be restored. Discussion of its future use took place and it was finally agreed that book shelving should be installed to provide Great Hinton with a mini library.
