Geocache Description:

The cross on Brat Tor has stood here for 125 years. It was placed here by William Widgery to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. It is the only cross on Dartmoor constructed of blocks of granite rather than being carved from a single slab. It is also the tallest granite cross on the moor, at a height of just under 4 metres. It is built of 10 courses of granite bricks, and has a span of about 1.5 metres. It has the words "W. Widgery, Fecit, Jubilee VR" inscribed on its base stone.
