A micro cache containing pencil. Easy drive by and find.Suitable for wheel chairs and strollers.Park in St Marys Road or nearby. Nearby other caches are Churchfelle, St Marys church micro, The Priory, The Priory Loop, Herculean Challenge and Old Cronks.
A 1970's modern style brick chapel.
Woodland Evangelical Church consists of two sister churches, Allestree and one at Parkview School, Oakwood.
The word "Evangelical" comes from the old word "evangel" meaning, in this case, the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ changing peoples' lives.
Originally, Woodlands Chapel was built in Allestree at the beginning of the 1970s and as the church membership grew it became necessary to expand the building at the end of the '70s.
The church membership continued to grow and as the activities have become more diverse it became necessary to undertake a major extension programme.A sister chapel was built. This was completed in the Summer 2002.
I have looked for further information on this chapel, as it appears I will add more information.
