Stumped Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

905kaa: My 4WD's engine was wrecked recently leaving me with no feasible access in the near future to any of my caches. Too expensive to get a replacement engine for the second time in six months!! :(

Regretably, I am therefore having to archive all of my Dubai / UAE based caches in accordance with the Geocaching guidelines.

I do hope you have enjoyed visiting them over the past few months and that they have taken people to the various fascinating places where they are placed. Those that remain will still be there so anyone else is free to take them over if they choose or to retrieve any travelling items that may be in them.

Regards

Danny

Geocache Description:

This is a cache that is sort of in the middle of nowehere.

Probabaly my most difficult cache placement yet. You can only get to this using a capable 4WD and with sound desert driving and escape skills in my view. Damage to vehicle is a possibility due to some severe dunes to cross - I can vouch for this possibility looking at my Pathfinder this morning!! Oh yes, and it took me 14 hours to escape from the cache area too having got stuck in soft sand 5km from the 66 road just as it got dark. Had to sit the night out in dark then with tyres at 5psi, managed to escape using Gogle Earth images sent by kids from London to my smartphone!

One for a party of two vehicles for safety unless you are really confident you can escape if bogged down.

You could approach it from the roundabout before Bab Al Shams coming off Al Quadra Road, then left at the roundabout towards Al Lisaili then right just after the 67 bus stop and all the way down that road to the line of pylones. Turn left after that and head for the hills!! I think there is no obvious route to or from this other than my ill advised track which may still be visible.
