The Church at Tormarton is dedicated to St Mary Magdalen.
Further information can be found here
The building dates back to Norman times and within the church you can find an amazing Norman arch. It has had a little repairwork done on it but it's still worth a visit.
More amazing...Take a squint at the squint! It's unusual to find a squint which can be walked through...and, on a wall memorial there you can find... a rather gory severed hand... clasped in the grip of a mailed hand (shudder!).
Local dignitary Cyril Newall 1st Baronet Newall has a memorial in the Churchyard. See photo in the gallery. Information about Lord Newall can be found here
The Cotswold way footpath crosses close by the Church.
The cache is not accessible to disabled cachers as there is a high stile to cross.
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
