Just outside of Laughlin, This cache was placed after an unsuccessful attempt to break the bank at the Edgewater Casino's Craps table.
Note: This cache started out life as a traditional cache but was disposed of as trash by rangers. Since the Etchings in the area are the real attraction I made it into a virtual cache so don't bother looking for a container anywhere. Could someone do me the favor of providing coordinates of the actual etchings so I can update.
Located about a 1/2 mile from some Indian etched rocks this cache requires a short drive along the dirt road called CHRISTMAS TREE PASS. This road connects 163 with 95. The short drive starts at the end of the road that connects to the 163. Four wheel drive is not required unless conditions are muddy. There is a clearly marked area for parking your car and then its just a 15 minute walk to see the etchings.
The following was submitted by Whitey of Whitey & Wheaty fame... If you do any thing at all in this area you must see the petroglpyphs. Spirit Mountain, grapevine Canyon and the surrounding canyons are the sacred grounds for the Yuman tribes of the lower Colorado River. The mountain plays a prominent role in the religion and mythology of these people. They believe the mountain (called Avikwame by the Mohave people and Wikame by the Hualapai) is the spiritual birthplace of the tribes. While visiting, please respect the traditions of the people who still consider this area to be sacred to their lives and culture. Look , observe, imagine. Be still and listen.
I'm from Southern California so you probably don't recognize any of the geocaching names of my crew. Whistlestick is my beautiful wife. DingDaddy is my son, he rode the mechanical bull in Vegas over the weekend. Popsicle is his girl friend and MIA is my daughter who is afraid she'll be MIA if she goes geocaching.
