Geocache Description:

Date: 9 June 2011 (Saturday)

Time: 2:00 - 2:15 p.m. (Geo-Charades to follow, 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.)

Place: Kensington, PEI (Town Square)

"So, you think you can dance"? YES, NO, who cares?! Come on out and bust a move with your best "FTF Happy Dance", "touchdown end-zone dance", "winning Lotto 649 Happy Dance" ... well, you get the idea! Music provided! Be creative and be cool, for this event will be videotaped and "You Tube" posted! Have fun!

This Event is part of the Ninth Annual World Wide Flash Mob Event (Hundreds of events all around the world will be coordinated to happen at the same time).

flash mob (FLASH mawb) n. A large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse. --v., --adj.

See (visit link) for background and history of flash mobs, including "International Pillow Fight Day".

This Event is only 15 MINUTES long!! You MUST be present and drop a piece of paper with your name on it into the ammo can during this time period to claim the event.

At 1:55 p.m., everybody hangs out around the area (park in the Post Office's parking lot across the street); just act as if you don't know each other and nothing is going to happen.

At precisely 2:00 p.m. El Nimrod will place an opened ammo can (log sheet container) at "ground zero". This is the signal that WWFM-IX is starting. Please bring a log sheet with you with your caching name on it that you can drop into the can.

At 2:05 p.m. one (1) name will be drawn from the ammo can. That person will be awarded the FTF honors for the event.

Between 2:07 - 2:12 p.m. we'll begin our group "Happy Dance" (dance participation is optional).

At 2:12 p.m. we'll have a group photo taken for posterity.

At 2:15 p.m. the event is over and we'll all immediately leave the area.

Immediately following the flash mob, come on over to the Island Stone Pub (Reference Point #1) at the Kensington Train Station, a National Historic Site, for a snack (great lobster rolls!) and a chance to try your hand at "Geo-Charades".

Go solo or form a team, strut your stuff and socialize with fellow Island cachers over a battle of wits -- geo-charades -- (yes, some cachers will be better armed than others).

Last years' "Kensington Geo-Charades Event" (GC23K5V) was a big success, so get ready for 'part trois' with a wild, new bunch of titles just waiting for your creative spin. Oh, and great prizes to boot!

Bring your travel bugs and geocoins along for swapping, and plan on staying around and grabbing some of the many new and old local caches.

See (visit link) for background on Island trains and the Kensington Train Station.

TRIVIA from WWFM-VIII on 4 June 2011:

215 total events world-wide
25 different countries
9940 participants
(all coordinated to occur at the same time)

This will be the Island's 5th WWFM Event. Previous WWFM's have included the following:

1. WWFM-VIII -- (GC) "Chicken Dance" -- as the name implies, a group "chicken dance" at Kensington's Post Office

2. WWFM-VII -- (GC23K33) "King of Kensington (Blades of Glory)" -- an epic sword fight at Kensington's Post Office

3. WWFM-VI (GC1X38H) "Kensington" -- a funky, uber cool hat parade at the Kensington Train Station

4. WWFM-V (GC1MZEB) "Sports R Us" -- favorite sports team/outfit "trash talk" in Winsloe
