Geocache Description:

The cache is located outside the eastern entrance to All Saints Church, Mountfield. There is some parking adjacent to the cache but additional parking can be found behind the village hall. This can be done as a quick cache and dash. Unfortunately I don't believe the cache is wheelchair accessible.

All Saints, Mountfield dates back to the early 12th century. It essentially a Norman building constructed between 1180 and 1200. The chancel and nave were built first, (c1107-1124.)Some of the original windows survive while others were inserted in subsequent centuries. the church has a large Norman font with 16th century decoration. Entry to the church is via the 14th century porch on the south side. The clock was installed in the tower in 1905 in memory of Lady Mary Egerton. Please take the time to have a look around the beautiful churchyard which has splendid views to the south. You are looking for a 35mm film cannister. Please bring your own pen/pencil.
