The cache is situated beside the old Rosehill Hospital, which sits in the fields which divide the towns of Hitchin and Letchworth Garden City. Formerly an isolation hospital, the patients may well have been greeted each morning by the delicate scent of roses, drifting from the world famous rose nursery across the road. The nursery was founded in 1879 in Yorkshire but soon relocated south to Hitchin to give room to expand the business. Today, the company is in the hands of the 4th generation of the family. Perhaps you, too, will get a waft of their scent as you take your walk?
The cache is situated on a wooded footpath alongside the old hospital and just across the main road from the rose nursery.
