Geocache Description:

This cache is not in a wall.

St. John the Baptist is the parish church of the Leicestershire village of Cold Overton.

It is an attractive mediaeval church, dating back to the 13th century, with some Early English architecture.

The church has an excellent collection of stone carvings and grotesques.

There are wall paintings in the South aisle, representing the Apostle before the death of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. John the Baptist, St. Catherine and a Nativity scene.

There is also some interesting stained glass.

“If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is also a Church Micro Stats page found via the Bookmark list”
