This cache is hidden for the 8th Annual Vancouver Island
Hide-&-Go (or HAG).
This cache is hidden near a WONDERFUL, old, and very tall Douglas
Fir. The trail starts from Ravensview Drive and winds through
Ravens View Park before entering Mount Wells Regional Park. When
you approach GZ, please keep going on the trail until you see a
deer-trail on the left (I've included a waypoint and tagged a tree
with orange flagging). There's no need to make your own trail. I
also added a small piece of orange flagging above the cache,
because reception in here isn't very good.
A note about road access:
You may notice a "Private road" sign at the intersection of Irwin
Road and Creekside Trail. Creekside Trail is a private strata road,
but you are allowed to use Creekside Trail for the purpose of
accessing Ravensview Drive (a public, city road), because it's
currently the only access. I find it WEIRD that the city would have
a road that is separated from the rest of their network like this.
In the future, Ravensview Drive will be extended and connected to
the Westhills development, at which point Creekside Trail would
become a purely private road.
