Geocache Description:

A fairly straightforward cache once solved; on the level and accessible from either a nearby fee paying car park or the new Park and Ride off the A354. A location hint is available when the correct solution has been submitted through the Geocheck link below.

This is one of a series of puzzle caches created to celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games Sailing events to be held in Weymouth Bay.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS SERIES WILL BE ARCHIVED ON THE 30th SEPTEMBER 2013

We would like to thank the many cachers who have taken the time to attempt these caches,

The series consists of five rings of puzzle caches situated in Weymouth Bay and can be seen on the Geocaching.com map view. Each ring is designated a separate colour (Black, Red, Yellow, Blue and Green) and has an associated bonus solved by collecting information from the caches within that ring. Solving all five bonus puzzles will yield the coordinates of a final cache location (GC3BXN0 Sailing Rings - Race To The Podium),  where Gold, Silver and Bronze medals await the first three successful geocachers. Most of the puzzles are designed to be solved at home and results can be checked using the associated geocheck.com link.
There are over 60 puzzles to solve so it is not a quick task to get to the end, but remember that all Olympians only reach their peak with hard work!

The cache is within five miles of the above location so please don't get your feet wet!

Now the Olympics are getting nearer Weymouth is awash with workmen painting and polishing just about everything.  A new observation tower is being erected near to the Pavilion to allow visitors to get up higher and see further.
Meanwhile, out on the new relief road a sculptor (Richard Harris) has finalised a sculpture welcoming visitors to Weymouth.  There has been some controversy in the national press regarding the cost of the sculpture (>£330,000) of which £160,000 was spent on the stainless steel supports and their erection.  Love it or loathe it, stop and have a look and while you are there and answer the following question:
Question: How many stainless steel supports are there in place (A)?

Whilst thinking about welcoming visitors there has been some debate about the 'pineapples' that were donated to Weymouth by the local Rotary Club to represent wealth and good fortune.  They were originally at the top of the Ridgeway on either side of the road to welcome visitors but have now been replaced by the standard road sign much to residents displeasure.  They now reside at the entrance to the main Park and Ride unless Dorset County Council give in and move them back to their original position.  Take a look and answer the following questions:
Question: How many gold characters are there on the LH pineapple looking into the Park and Ride (not counting the Rotary logo) (B)?
Question: How many letters in the President's surname (C)?
Question: How many letters in Councillor Doug Hollings title (D)?
Question: How many letters in the occupation of Paul Brown (E)?

For non-locals, images and waypoints have been provided to help with the search.
