After the success of 2001's Fall Picnic, we have decided to start this year off with a bang -- a New picnic for a new year. Come out and meet the people you've only read logs about.
As much fun as it was last year, we decided to do it again. This Year's Spring Picnic is on April 27th, in the Steamboat Bend shelter. Lunch will be at high Noon, but you're more than welcome to come early. Bring as many people as you like, as we'll have plenty of space.
Concerning luncheon activites, we decided it was best that everyone bring their own main course (Hamburgers, steaks, sandwiches, whatever...) There will be a grill available, with charcoal already burning. To add to this, we've decided that everyone also bring some kind of side dish and/or desserts to create a potluck meal. Bringing beverages wouldn't be a bad idea, either.
After lunch, there will be some Geocaching related activities, where we will encourage some litter disposal, since there seems to be a bit in the woods around the shelter. This event will be suitable for cachers of all ages, even though the events have been coordinated by Team Lead Pipe.
This year's picnic is to be held inside the roomy 'Steamboat Bend' Shelter, which is part of Woodland Mound park, but is not actually in Woodland Mound Park. The quickest method of getting to the shelter is taking 275 to Route 52 East, and taking a right into the entrance, which is directly accross the street from Nine Mile.
We hope to see you there!
We would like an estimated head count, so if you plan on attending, please leave a note or e-mail us at brent@bowser.com
