On the east bank of the "Wollake"lies a cavern.The immense roof slab measures 35ft by 13ft.Gaps between the slab and supporting boulders have been plugged with stones.The cavern is known as Phillpotts Cave.
Eden Phillpotts adopted the cave before world war one to be sparsely equipped as a shelter for the moormen and others familiar with it.It was once cleared out and a cache of perserved food and whiskey was hidden .Cave is across the stream about 75yds away.Cache is a small clip box,
