The Cache is a small square plastic container with log sheet & pencil. This cache is the start of the travels of my travel bug “ Cache & Release-Bass “ He is where he should start life, viewing the magnificent Zambezi River, before being moved to other fishing spots of the world!
The cache is very close to the banks of the Zambezi. This stretch of river is downstream of the two bridges that span the Zambezi at Chirundu Boarder Post. Follow the river road down stream and it will take you through a private lodge area which sometimes has a boom across the road. Please drive very slowly past the lodges so as not to create any dust or agro for the guests. If for any reason the lodge management close this road then access to the cache can be made by driving down the sugar estate road and turning left towards the river. This will lead to the river road. The Sugar Estate road is south of Chirundu Town. Hiking to this cache can be done but extreme care must be taken as there is a large elephant and Lion population. In the wet season it is advisable to use a 4x4 vehicle.
