Geocache Description:

Zaklad je skrit nad Karavanškim predorom.

Cache is hidden above the Karavanke tunnel.

Avtocestni predor:
Gradnja je potekala od leta 1986 do leta 1991. Rudarska dolžina predora je 7864 m od tega je dolžina slovenskega dela 3750 m. Najdaljši slovenski enocevni cestni predor je bil ob dograditvi celo deveti najdaljši avtocestni predor v evropskih Alpah in šestnajsti najdaljši avtocestni predor na svetu. Predor je bil predan prometu 1. junija 1991.



Železniški predor:
Gradnja je potekala od leta 1900 do leta 1906. Rudarska dolžina predora je 7976 m. Za izgradnjo predora so na hrušcanskem polju zgradili 7 km dolgo ozkotirno železnico, ki je omogocala dostop iz predora do gramoznice na Savi, železniške postaje na Hrušici, do deponije gradbenega materiala in kamnoloma v Mirci. Predor je bil prebit maja 1905. Prvi vlak je skozenj uradno zapeljal 1. oktobra 1906.


Highway tunnel:
Construction took place from 1986 until 1991. Length of the tunnel is 7864 m, the length of the Slovenian part is 3750 m. The longest single-tube road tunnel Slovenian was the upgrade of even the longest highway tunnel ninth in the European Alps and the sixteenth longest motorway tunnel in the world.

Rail tunnel:
Construction took place from 1900 to 1906. Length of the tunnel is 7976 m. To build the tunnel, the 7 km long narrow-gauge railroad must build on Hrušica field, which allowed access from the tunnel to the gravel on the Sava River, the train station in Hrušica to dump building materials and quarry in Mirc. The tunnel was broken on May 1905th. The first train ran through it on first October of 1906th..
