This cache was placed on a whim – I had spoken to CapeDoc who
was last to find my Danger Point View cache before it went missing,
he felt this one should be higher up on the ridge. I came
here with my grandson to replace the missing cache and explored the
good doctor’s idea. By the time we found a suitable
spot we were too far for a change of coordinate log and had enough
stuff with us to put a new cache in place.
From here you have a good view of a large part of the
Fernkloof Nature Reserve proclaimed in 1956 and which thanks to the
local branch of the Botanical Society is kept in good shape. There
are about 40km of paths in the reserve and lots of good and varied
views to be had.
There are a few ways to get to this cache which is on the extension
of the Red Route and can easily be part of a circular route picking
up some of the many caches in the reserve.
Please note no fynbos has to be trampled to get to the cache
– enjoy the views.
