A cache está situada perto do Pico do Arieiro. O Pico do Arieiro é um pico situado na ilha da Madeira. Com 1818 metros de altitude é o terceiro pico mais alto da ilha, depois do Pico Ruivo (1861 m) e do Pico das Torres (1851 m).

The cache is located near Pico Arieiro. Arieiro Peak is a peak located on the island of Madeira. With an altitude of 1818 meters it is the third highest peak of the island, after Pico Ruivo (1861 m) and Pico das Torres (1851 m).
O pico pertence ao concelho do Funchal e é acessível através de automóvel. No seu cimo encontra-se um radar e um miradouro. A partir do Pico do Arieiro parte um caminho pedestre que comunica com o Pico Ruivo. O percurso demora três horas a ser feito e atravessa vários túneis escavados nas montanhas, sendo aconselhável o uso de lanternas e de roupa apropriada a quem deseje efectuá-lo.
The peak belongs to the municipality of Funchal and is accessible by car. At its top you will find a radar and a viewpoint. From Pico do Arieiro starts a pedestrian path that communicates with Pico Ruivo. The trip takes three hours to do and goes through several tunnels dug into the mountains, it is advisable the use of flashlights and appropriate clothing to those who want to carry it out.
No pico do Areeiro, devido à agressividade das condições climatéricas de montanha, a vegetação desaparece, dominando a giesta brava, as urzes e a uveira. Nas encostas do pico do Areeiro pastam rebanhos de cabras e ovelhas.
At Pico do Areeiro due to the aggressiveness of the mountain weather, vegetation disappears, dominating the wild broom, heather and the Vaccinium padifolium. On the slopes of Pico do Areeiro graze herds of goats and sheep.
Do Pico do Arieiro avistam-se outros locais da ilha, como a Ponta de São Lourenço, o Curral das Freiras e até mesmo a ilha do Porto Santo (caso as condições meteorológicas sejam favoráveis). Durante o Inverno o pico e as áreas circundantes podem encontrar-se cobertas com neve, sendo por isso alvo de visitas por parte dos habitantes da ilha.
From Pico do Arieiro one can see other parts of the island such as Ponta de São Lourenço, Curral das Freiras and even the island of Porto Santo (if weather conditions are favorable). During winter, the peak and the surrounding areas can be found covered with snow, and is therefore subject to visits by the inhabitants of the island.
