The cache itself is outside the church and is interesting in its
own right because there are two churches all alone in this
green-belt area: A Gereformeerde Kerk and a Presbyterian Church.
They are both from the Calvinistic Reformed Tradition. During the
1800's the Dutch Reformed Churches were unable to get ministers
from Holland and so they made use of Scottish Presbyterian
Ministers. It seems history has repeated itself in the
juxtaposition of these churches.
The cache is also next to the Benoni Bunny Park which is a
long-standing landmark in Benoni. It is looking very good at the
moment with a variety of farm and exotic animals on
display.
PS: As an added bonus on the way home, Team Cabey
discovered an old fashioned RoadHouse where the waiters bring your
food and drinks to the car on those trays that clip to the windows.
The kiddo really enjoyed the experience. The co-ordinates are in
the waypoints...
- Those who simply want to do the cache for the numbers are
welcome to do so - the cache is available during the day.
- Those who would like to have a great family outing wait until
December when the congregation put up a great display of Christmas
lights - go and do the cache in the evening and leave enough time
to grab a shake or something to eat on the way home. It'll be one
of those holiday experiences your family can enjoy!
