Gestatten, bin Herr Wurm von Holz
und darauf bin ich richtig stolz,
ich knabb´re täglich einen Gang,
mal ist er kurz, mal ist er lang.

Die Arbeit, hab ich festgestellt,
die ist die Schönste von der Welt,
weil man durch sieben Gäng´ sich frisst,
wie schad´, dass du kein Holzwurm bist!
