Geocache Description:

A cache in the mountains north of the beautiful Nissimos plateau suggested for hikers.

We placed this cache on a hike aiming to explore the area and track down old trails. Thanks to some old and detailed maps, we often hike on long-forgotten trails in order to discover new routes and beautiful places for our members.

To get as close to the cache as possible, you have to take a dirt and cement road that starts at the western entrance of Tzermiado village, see WP. When you reach Nissimos Plateau, take the dirt road that crosses all of it from south to north. Park at the end of the road and start hiking following your GPS. Good hiking shoes are recommended.

The cache can be combined with the other caches at Timios Stavros, Tzermiado and on Karfi. It is a small plastic container with a logbook and a pen.

From the cache and in good weather you can enjoy great views over Nissimos and Lassithi Plateau and the Lassithiotika mountains.
