I have created a new cache. It is smaller but bright orange. It's one of those emergency, all in one match holders with compass, whistle and striker. Plus a little surprise! :-) (Nov. 2017)
The white pvc pipe is NOT the cache! :-)
NOTE: November 17, 2017. I revisited my Cache this weekend. No sign of my original Cache tube (Clear plastic tube with Green ends) If you come across that material, please pack it out for me.
I have replaced it with the new one described above, placed in same spot. PLEASE PLACE EVERYTHING BACK EXACTLY THE WAY YOU FIND IT. You will understand why once you find. :-)
I have also revisited the GPS Coordinates and will be updating once I can convert to the way this site wants it entered. Should be a bit more accurate. For those that use DMS, here are those coordinates: N 35° 22' 14.2" W 084° 00' 01.7" (from my Garmin)
When I originally placed this cache and gave the hint, there was a pool of water nearby. That has changed and those pools (and some pvc pipes) are further up the hill now. Those pvc pipes are not the cache. Please do not disturb them.
NOTE: SEPT. 24, 2017. Was notified that an animal may have found and taken this Cache out of its original hiding place. Green cap was only found nearby. I will be checking in November and hopefully can replace or repair. If you plan on finding this cache before then, email me. Thanks!
Almost on the Bald and near the Mile High Series of Caches. After a hard days hike, this Cache will be a much needed find.
After all these years of hiking this beautiful area and camping on the Bald many times, it was a thrill to realize I had hiked past all the other Caches so it was fun to add this cache to the Mile High chain and make it my very first hide. Hope it is as much fun to find as the others were. And as I mentioned, there is a bonus in finding this one. The spoiler hint should be obvious to those that camp up here overnight.
