Geocache Description:

This is cache #01 on a circular trail of nearly 6 miles, passing Foxley, Norton, Pinkney & Easton Grey.

** Please read this first cache description to avoid disappointment **

The route was planned using an OS map and the trail follows public footpaths. As some footpaths may not be that obvious, I suggest you take an (electronic) copy of an OS Map for the area or do some preparatory work on the internet before setting off to avoid disappointment - or heaven-forbid, perhaps even some logs expressing some frustration - when taking a wrong turn.

The terrain difficulty has been set at 2 for all of the caches to reflect the average difficulty of the entire series. Please be aware that there are large number of stiles to be crossed. Some areas can be very muddy. Some stiles on the route were not well maintained.

The trail will take you also on part of the Fosse Way - where you will find a cache, GC1Q4KV - Let's Off Road 06, which forms part of the excellent 'Let's off road' series.
This slight diversion is mainly to circumnavigate the Ladyswood Stud Farm; whilst a public footpath crosses the Farm, it felt rather private when I planned the route.

When placing the caches, I came across various animals, cattle, horses, loose dogs, various birds and other wildlife. Please be aware that you may come across these and perhaps other animals during this circular trail.

There are various roadside parking opportunities along the route. Easiest would be to park in Foxley where there is ample parking and after a short walk, start at cache #01.
If you wish to start the trail at a different location, there are some alternatives:
1) On-verge roadside parking near New Plantation when starting with cache #15 [N51 34.232 W002 11.713]
b) In Easton Grey [N51 35.087 W002 10.449] or on the B4040 [N51 35.252 W002 10.088] just outside Easton Grey, both requiring an additional walk of 0.3 miles to pick up the trail to start with cache #21
c) A pub in Norton (you may want to seek approval from the owners before parking your car there) [N51 33.604 W002 09.794] if starting with cache #06 or #07

At the time of placement, all caches - besides the smallest nano caches - contained a pencil.

For cache #01, you are looking for a small round clip lock container.
