Postglasiaalinen muodonpalautusilmiö
Postglasiaalinen muodonpalautusilmiö eli maankohoaminen
tarkoittaa maan hyvin hidasta kohoamista. Suomessa ilmiö johtuu
viimeisestä jääkaudesta, jolloin jäätikkö painoi maankuoren
lommolleen. Kun jäätikkö on sulanut, lommo pyrkii hitaasti
oikenemaan. Kun maa kohoaa vesistön rannan lähellä, kuivaa maata
ilmestyy, saaret kasvavat ja merestä ilmestyy uusia saaria.
Postglasiaalinen maannousu on suurimmillaan Oulun–Kemin
alueella, n. 9 mm vuodessa merenpintaan nähden. (Wikipedia)
Koordinaatit johdattavat sinut vanhalle merenrannalle,
muinaisrannalle, jota myös pirunpelloksi kutsutaan. Pohjanlahden
ympäristössä ylimmän rannan rantamerkkejä tavataan Suomessa
korkeimmillaan noin 220 metriä nykyisen merenpinnan tason
yläpuolella. Arvioiden mukaan Perämeri muuttuukin järveksi noin
2000 vuoden kuluttua, kun Merenkurkun noin 20 metrin syvyydessä
olevat kynnykset kohoavat merenpinnan yläpuolelle. Maankohoamista
on jäljellä arviolta 100-150 metriä. (Geologia.fi)
Muinaisrannalla voi nähdä kivikautisten asukkaiden merkkejä
rakkakuoppien ja jätinkirkon muodossa. Jätinkirkko on
kivimuodostelma, joka on ladottu osoittamaan ilmansuuntia. Sen
alkuperäisestä käytöstä voidaan esittää vain arvauksia.
Todennäköisesti se on ollut hylkeidenpyytäjien käytössä. Alueella
on myös nähtävissä useita rakkakuoppia. Rakkakuoppia on
todennäköisesti käytetty ruoan säilytystarkoituksessa (Luontoon.fi).
Alue on Museoviraston rekisterissä (Kohde
84010026). Liiku alueella varovasti!
Alueella on herkän historian lisäksi
käärmeitä ja liukkaita kiviä. Ole erittäin
varovainen.
Post-glacial rebound
Post-glacial rebound (sometimes called continental rebound,
glacial isostatic adjustment) is the rise of land-masses that were
depressed by the huge weight of ice sheets during the last glacial
period, through a process known as isostasy. In Finland this is
caused by last glacial period while the enormous weight ice caused
the surface of the Earth's crust to deform and warp downward,
forcing the fluid mantle material to flow away from the loaded
region. At the end of the ice age when the glaciers retreated, the
removal of the weight from the depressed land led to slow (and
still ongoing) uplift or rebound of the land and the return flow of
mantle material back under the deglaciated area. (Wikipedia)
The coordinates guide you to ancient sea shore, in Finnish also
called as "pirunpelto", "Devil's field". In area of Bothnian Sea
one can find marks of sea shore up to 220 metres over current sea
level. It is estimated that Bothnian Sea will turn to a lake in
2000 years, when parts of "Merenkurkku", Kvarken, in depth of 20
metres will rise over the sea level. There are approximately
100-150 metres of land rising left (Geologia.fi).
On angient sea shore one can see marks of stone age citizens in the
forms of block field holes and giant's church. Giant's church is
form of stones piled to mark points of compass. Usage of it can
only be guessed. It is predicted that angient sealers have use it.
There are lots of stone field holes visible on the area. Probably
those have been used to food storage purposes (Luontoon.fi).
Area is on register of Finnish National Board of Antiquities and
Historial Monuments (Site
84010026). Be carefull in the area!
There are snakes and slippery stones
in the area besides of delicate marks of history. Please be extra
carefull.
Tehtäväsi geokätköilijänä:
- Vastaa seuraaviin kysymyksiin ja lähetä vastaukset
profiililinkin kautta kätköntekijälle.
- Kuinka korkealla muinaisranta on nykyisestä merenpinnasta
(metreinä)?
- Kuvaile kuinka kivien koko ja muoto vaihtelevat muinaisrannan
eri osissa?
- Mikä on muinaisrannan yleisin kasvusto ja miksi?
- Kuinka monta isoa kiveä (halkaisija yli metri) on kivirakassa
näkyvissä?
- Muinaisrannan korkeimmalla kohdalla on kivikehä. Montako ja

Your mission as a geocacher is:
- Answer following questions and send answers from profile link
to cache owner.
- What is the height of the ancient sea shore from the current
sea level (in metres)
- Please describe how size and shape of the rocks varies in the
different parts of the ancient sea shore?
- What is the common grow on the ancient sea shore and why?
- How many large stones (diameter over 1 metre) is visible on the
stone field area?
