Comfort Zone IN Challenge Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

coachstahly: Time to put this one to bed. When I published it, I was a huge fan of challenges. I still am, but this one is more of a bookkeeping challenge rather than a challenge that centers on caching. It was fun while it was out. Thanks to all the finders for going after this one! There will be a new cache here that might start out in a familiar way!

Geocache Description:

This challenge IS at the posted coordinates. However, please read below for the requirements necessary in order to log this as found. NO NIGHT CACHING!! Please DO NOT sign the log if you have not met the requirements. Logs that don't meet the requirements will be deleted. You may NOT use event caches.

The idea for this challenge came from Geoturtlelover and her challenge in FL, GC2JTVN. Thanks to her for allowing me to copy and use this idea up here in central Indiana as well as for using some of her text from her cache page.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to find a total of 49 caches before finding the final cache.

Here is what you need to do:

We all know about the GC numbers that are associated with each and every cache. However, other than using them to refer to specific caches when doing a search, we rarely pay much attention to them. This challenge forces you to pay attention to them!!

You need to find all the numbers for each “position” within the GC code. GC numbers range from 1 to 5 digits after the letters GC (although all the single digit caches have been archived and you wouldn’t be able to use them per the parameters of this challenge anyway).

For example, you need to find numbers 1-9 for the first position after GC

(GC1XXX) (GC2XXX) Etc.

For the following 4 positions, you must find all numbers 0-9 (that’s 10 numbers for each position)

The exact number of digits in a GC code is not required to fulfill a designated spot in the grid (for example you can find GC51A and use the 5 for GC5XXX). Any 4, 5, 6 or 7 digit GC code may be used. However, a cache may only be used 1 time and you must submit either a bookmark or post the qualifying caches in your log (either in a grid like below or a screen shot) upon claiming the cache.

*All caches must be found NO EARLIER than March 1, 2011*

After looking back through all my finds in order to qualify for this challenge, the earliest date I could find for the last one I needed in my grid was March 3, 2011. That means that all the rest of my qualifying finds were made on or AFTER this date. Therefore, the date mentioned above was chosen for this challenge instead of the publication date. I am aware that many long time cachers may have the older caches needed for the first position numbers. However, no special dispensations will be granted for qualifying finds.

Here is a chart to use to keep track of the caches you have found.

GC1XXX GCX0XX GCXX0XX GCXXX0X GCXXXX0
GC2XXX GCX1XX GCXX1XX GCXXX1X GCXXXX1
GC3XXX GCX2XX GCXX2XX GCXXX2X GCXXXX2
GC4XXX GCX3XX GCXX3XX GCXXX3X GCXXXX3
GC5XXX GCX4XX GCXX4XX GCXXX4X GCXXXX4
GC6XXX GCX5XX GCXX5XX GCXXX5X GCXXXX5
GC7XXX GCX6XX GCXX6XX GCXXX6X GCXXXX6
GC8XXX GCX7XX GCXX7XX GCXXX7X GCXXXX7
GC9XXX GCX8XX GCXX8XX GCXXX8X GCXXXX8
Empty.. GCX9XX GCXX9XX GCXXX9X GCXXXX9

The difficulty on the final is 3.5 and the terrain is 2.5 (most times a 2, but occasionally worse). My GPSr (as well as my back-up GPSr) were bouncing around quite a bit. I took multiple readings, including using my waypoint averaging function on my main GPSr, each of the times that I was at GZ and then averaged the coordinates to arrive at what I hope is a pretty accurate spot. Please feel free to post your coordinates for the next finder if they differ too much from the ones posted here. Please refrain from posting hints or clues for the hide in your logs as well.

FTF prize is a neatly folded one dollar bill (thanks to witch's wink). To be safe, bring your own pen.

NO NIGHT CACHING!!

Congrats to dbbolling for FTF
