Welcome to Foothills Battleship!
Is it really the foothills? Not entirely, but its not quite the plains either. We just couldn’t think of a better name. Anyhow, the rules are the same as the board game, but minimized to some degree. You will be playing on a 5 x 5 grid, so your first step is to create a game board. Do this by creating a table with 5 columns labeled A-E, and 5 rows labeled 1-5. Each grid location is identified by a letter and a number, such as A1.
Similar to the Battleship board game - you are seeking to find geocaches at each grid location but also discovering HITS and ultimately collecting coordinates to solve the ship's puzzle cache.
This is a mini-version of the game with only one ship to sink, the ever-popular Battleship. There are only 4 HITS in the entire game grid. The ship is aligned either vertically or horizontally, never diagonally. Game grid caches are all traditional, small in size (35 mm) and will be 1-2 difficulty and 1-2.5 terrain. HIT/Miss & coordinate information will be within the cache container, either inside the lid or in the log baggie. Once you have succeeded in making 4 hits, you have “Sunk My Battleship!” Use the coordinate pieces to go and find the final cache. A FTF prize of a new, unactivated TB and first shot at the swag selected by my daughters awaits. Please be stealthy, use proper geocaching etiquette, and BE SAFE!
Don’t forget to write down the partial coordinates when you make a HIT!
DO NOT mention in your logs if you discover a HIT!
