"Baybaru"- Inhabitants of reef and land have always sustained life from harvesting the riches from the sea. These hybrid sculptural forms are derived from both the sea anemone of the reefs and the woven funnel-net fish traps (Baybaru) of the indigenous people. Both are methods of obtaining sustenance from entrapment". (Paul Johnson 2003)
This is one of Cairns' greatest views, especially at night time, sitting admiring the harbour and the above mentioned artwork is quite impressive too. Muggles galore here, especially when the reef boats are offloading the troops, so be very very sneaky. The cache location does however accommodate for this and you will only need to take a step off the footpath to reach it.
Room for a log only, please bring a pen/pencil. This cache is quite susceptible to rain so please wrap back up as good as possible.
A nice easy one along the boardwalk stroll. Enjoy the view
