Way out “On the Pony“, out in the back country of Tooele County Utah, Out along The Old Overland trail and the Route of the Pony Express, There is an interesting old cemetery that is still visited by most all who pass this way. Just over Lookout pass on the west side, in a beautiful little canyon lies the remains of old lookout stage station.
In the 1850/60 era the station keeper was Horace and Libby Rockwell. Libby, had a pet cemetery constructed for her pet dogs that passed on. Rumor has it, that her dogs were buried side by side with emigrants who died along the trail as well as employees killed by Indians. The strange part is that the dogs graves were the only ones that were marked with tomb stones.
The BLM has a small metal kiosk box on site with a sign in book where you can leave your party information, date and comments. To log this cash you must sign in the BLM log book and where it asks what form of activity brought you there: write "Geocaching". I will be checking the log book on occasion on my travels by to verify you actually visited. Enjoy
