Geocache Description:

Please replace and message me updated coord/hint. I will update cache page.

Every time we came through Tonopah we were surprised there was no cache near this cemetery. For us, we found it to be something really different, and a nice little piece of history. So we placed a very simple cache here.

THE CACHE IS NOT IN THE CEMETERY

Tonopah Cemetery was used from 1901 to 1911. Buried here are many of Tonopah's pioneer residents including 14 victims of the Tonopah-Belmont mine fire of Feb. 23, 1911, as well as the victims of the 1902 "Tonopah Plague".

The cache: is back in action as of 9/16/2015 as soda tube (thanks Fuzzy B) very near the entrance to, but outside of the cemetery. No real room for swag, and no prize for FTF other than glory noted eternally on the cache page. Be sure to pet the cache guardian, a black cat with white feet, while you're there for good luck! Although a little shy, this kitty craves and loves any attention it can get.

Congrats to Tprints for FTF!
