Geocache Description:

Ballinger is a small village in Buckinghamshire, nestling in the Chiltern Hills and close to both Great Missenden and Chesham. Village life centres around the village hall and its neighbouring cricket ground, which also has a small children’s playground. Sadly, the village pub, the Pheasant, is currently closed and is up for sale, having unsuccessfully tried to re-invent itself as a gastro pub a few years ago. But perhaps the most remarkable thing about Ballinger – at least from a Geocaching point of view - is that, until now, it has not had a single cache, despite being close to an area in and around Chesham that is renowned for its high density of caches. We decided to put that right.

Like many of its neighbouring villages, Ballinger is surrounded by rolling Chiltern Hills, farmland and woodland. This series of caches – our first ever hidden caches – is placed along a short circular walk through some wonderful countryside. The walk is, inevitably, somewhat undulating and can get muddy at times, but it is buggy friendly. It also passes close by fighterplanes’ ‘Lee Common’ cache (GC2G8H3), which is certainly worth a short detour. We have aimed for variety in setting this series, with varying sizes, difficulties and – hopefully – a few surprises thrown in. We hope you enjoy it.

You are looking for a small, black plastic container, big enough to hold a few swaps and small trackables.

Watch out for gardening muggles and please replace exactly as found so that it is out of sight of passers by.

Congratulations to DavetheJackal for the FTF!
