Welcome to one of my favorite spots on Lake Eyak - depending on the water level (and time of year), it is a good place to camp, have a bonfire, or just hang out and watch the eagles and the salmon.
It's also a good departure point for winter activities on the lake (make sure it's frozen solid, and be aware that Lake Eyak has methane pockets).
Since kids often use this location for pallet fires, watch for nails when driving onto this little spit. Also, please practice CITO, as it seems there's always some garbage left behind here.
This cache is not in a safe location! Please be aware of your climbing abilities and use caution.
Kids are generally good climbers, but will need a boost to get started, and help getting back down the final 5' or so. Once up in the tree, the climb is not that difficult, and you only need to go up about 20'.
When approaching GZ from the beach side, the particular tree should be apparent.
In the future, I might hide caches like this without telling people about the tree . . .
Congratulations to Akmariner for FTF!!!
