WHAT : Geocaching event
WHEN : 4th of November 2011 20:00 to 01:00 (that's 8 pm to 1
am)
WHY : Just for the fun of it!
WHERE : Paddling from South Wharf to Herring Island
- You have to bring or borrow some kind of
watercraft. The logbook will be placed somewhere along the
way.
- Since you go by boat you have to have a
PFD.
- And because it's dark you'll need a
white light as well.
Meet and Greet
The event will start at 8 pm at the coordinates. From there we'll
paddle to Herring Island, have a break and a BBQ and after that
we'll float back to the start. The whole trip is a 12 km paddle so
we will be on the water a couple of hours. For this one you will
need a kayak, canoe, tinny or something similar. A dinghy won't
work. Jet-Skis aren't allowed.
On Herring Island is a BBQ and some benches and tables. There will
be no food provided and the last time I checked there wasn't a
kiosk on the Island *gg* so remember to BYO food and other
gear.
Unfortunately we will pass a lot of rubbish along the way so why
not collect it and put it into the rubbish traps which are set-up
along the way by Parks Victoria.
Cheers
Your Friendly Floatees
