Sommet d'un petit et très odorant massif dominant Luzenac, non loin d'Ax-les-Thermes, près de la carrière de talc. Summit of a small and odorous moutain over Luzenac, not far from Ax-les-Thermes, close to the talc career.
L'accès à la borne géodésique de La Bouiche se fait par la route de la carrière de talc. Prendre un petit chemin à droite 500m après le carrefour des 4 chemins de Lordat et grimper dans la forêt de l'ubac jusqu'en haut. On arrive sur un col où se trouve sur une plateforme abandonnée. La borne est sur le sommet voisin, dit La Bouiche, à environ 10 minutes vers l'Est. On traverse une forêt de buis et de chènes pour y arriver.
La Bouiche est un bel exemple d'opposition de versants en montagne. Le flanc sud, très ensolleillé, qui domine Luzenac et Unac, est occupé par des terrasses de pelouse sèche piquetée de genéviers. Le flanc nord est une forêt mixte de buis (très odorants) et de chênes. Le sommet, déboisé, a longtemps été le terrain de repos des moutons du voisinage, le sol a été recouvert de crottes et une végétation rudérale, très particulière, s'est développée (nombreuses orties). La borne géodésique était cachée par ces plantes, nous l'avons dégagée. La géocache se trouve au nord de la borne, à quelques mètres, dans l'axe de la carrière de talc, au pied d'un massif de buis, elle est recouverte par des pierres. Elle contient un dossier de cartes géographiques anciennes et récentes, quelques jouets.

The access to the geodetic mark of La Bouiche is easy by the road of the talc career. Take a small way on the right 500m after the crossroads of the 4 ways of Lordat and climb in the humid forest of the northern slope until the top. One arrives on a collar where is an abandoned platform. The mark is on a close top, known as La Bouiche, at approximately 10 minutes eastwards. One crosses a boxwood forest and oaks to arrive there.
La Bouiche is a very interesting example of opposite slopes in mountain. The south slope, very sunny, over the villages of Luzenac and Unac, is occupied by terraces with dry meadows and some Juniperus. The north slope is a forest composed of ordorous Buxus and oaks. The top of the mountain is deforested was used for a long time as a rest place by the sheep of the vicinity. The ground was covered with droppings and a very particular vegetation is visible (many nettles). The geodetic mark was hidden by these plants, we cleaned up the place to make it apparent. The geocache is few meters far from the geodetic mark, in the north, in the axis of the talc career, at the foot of a boxwood bush (Buxus sempervirens), it is covered by stones. It contains a file of old and recent geographical maps, some toys.
